Former EastEnders star Cheryl Fergison, who played the role of Heather Trott on the BBC One soap, recently opened up about her health issues. The actress was diagnosed with cancer in 2015 and has been going through a tough battle since. Cheryl, better known for her role as Heather, revealed that she was going to die after being diagnosed with stage 2 womb cancer. She received the news in 2015, and after eight years, the actress feels better and opened up about her journey with cancer. The 58-year-old soap actress mentioned that she became obsessed with cleaning herself.

It seemed like she wanted to ‘wash away’ cancerous cells. While speaking to Closer Magazine, she said, ‘I hate the word self-harm, but I was harming myself. I was getting hot showers three or four times a week. The hottest I could and aiming it up my vagina thinking I would wash away the cells.’

Fergison also admitted that she was bleeding and was sore. In addition, the relationship between her husband & herself became difficult, and she stopped all this harm at the end of last year. We wish Cheryl a speedy recovery and best wishes. 

As for her stint on EastEnders, Heather was killed by Ben Mitchell in 2012. She played Heather’s role from 2007 to 2012. Cheryl shared the news of treatment with a few co-stars, including Dame Barbara Windsor, Steve McFadden, and June Brown. Other than that, she spoke to Paul O’Grady about her condition.

Further, in the interview, the soap star also spoke about how she would love to present For The Love Of Dogs in the wake of Paul O’Grady’s death. However, Alison Hammon got that job, and  Cheryl was nothing but happy for her.
