Duggar News: Josh Duggar Might Get To Walk Out Of Prison! Will Get A Re-Trial?
Josh Duggar’s case sent a chill down every reality TV fan’s spine. He made many headlines for receiving and possessing child pornography content on his device. After getting a prison sentence worth 12 years, there has been a development in the Duggar News case. As it turns out, Josh’s attorney filed an appeal in October 2022. The hearing for the same took place on February 16, 2022. Duggar’s lawyer Justin Gelfand argued that his client deserves a re-trial on the basis of the following things.
As per him, Josh wasn’t given a chance to contact an attorney during the 2019 raid in his office parking lot. As per Duggar News, the agents also physically restrained Josh, which is a violation. Eventually, the federal officials told the convict he was “free to leave,” but he had “nowhere to go.” That’s because the lot was in the middle of nowhere. After hearing these arguments, the judge was “concerned.”
He stated that contacting an attorney through his phone was the only way the reality TV star could have done so. The judge had never seen such a thing before, as there was no other option. As per Duggar news, Josg’s lawyer eventually suggested that the FBI agents could have given him their phone to make the call, but that didn’t happen either.
Duggar News: The Judge Put Josh’s Case “Under Advisement”!
Josh Duggar was not present during the current hearing after the appeal. That’s because he was in prison, doing time in FCI Seagoville in Dallas, Texas. Yet, his representatives have become part of the Duggar News. After putting forward his arguments, the attorney, Justin Gelfand, argued that the court must give Josh a “fair,” “constitutional” trial. On top of this, Duggar’s team of lawyers also argued that Josh wasn’t the one who was behind the crime. As per them, an employee, i.e., Caleb Williams, put the disturbing content in the TV personality’s device and also had access to the parking lot to consume it.
On top of this, Williams also has a history of criminal sexual abuse trailing behind his name. Josh Duggar’s law team argued that the prosecution used an incorrect expert witness statement and didn’t even let the defense’s expert analyze the same. After this, the judge put the following case “under advisement.” So, chances are that Josh might just succeed in getting a retrial and walking as a free man again.
