Duggar News: Jinger Duggar Shares Everything About Her People Pleasing Habits & How She Overcame Them
Jinger Duggar became a successful author after her run on 19 Kids And Counting and Counting On was over. Everyone knew the Duggars were quite conservative in terms of their lifestyle and religion. Duggar News followers were proud when they saw Jinger openly discussing how these things ended up affecting her childhood and teenage years.
Her new book People Pleaser: Breaking Free from the Burden of Imaginary Expectations talks about it. Jinger had a belief stemming from her childhood that she was “not enough.” She only ever wanted to “get along” with everyone in the family and avoided ruffling anyone’s feathers. This behavior became prevalent during her teen years as one is able to process things better.
Jinger also called out Bill Gothard’s IBLP teachings for worsening her people-pleasing tendencies. They conditioned women to be submissive and please their husbands no matter what, or else they would leave them. But it was her husband, Jeremy, who beautifully brought her out of this toxic mindset and helped her recognize her worth.
Now Jinger understands her need to share her candid opinions without fearing if it’ll bother others or not. It was like he “dismantled” her long-held feelings of unworthiness. Keep an eye on TV Season & Spoilers for more Duggar News updates.
