Duggar News: Josh Duggar Fails To Get A Re-Trial! Court Denies Appeal
The nature of Josh Duggar’s crimes was too intense. Hence, after an intense trial in 2021, the court found him guilty. Apart from this, they sentenced him to prison for 12.5 years. Despite this, the eldest child from the super-sized family didn’t back down. He and his team of attorneys constantly tried to get him an appeal. Josh’s lawyer Justin Gelfand mentioned three reasons why he should get a re-trial. This included a “district court violating Duggar’s constitutional right to present a complete defense by preventing him from calling.”
Another was “the district court failing to adhere to Josh Duggar’s motion to suppress statements.” It happened during the time of his arrest when an agent stopped him from calling his attorney and interrogating him in the lack of a council. The last reason was the court erring by letting a “government expert” give their testimony on EXIF metadata. They also denied experts from Duggar’s side to testify for the unreliable methodology used. However, these points weren’t strong enough to let Josh have an appeal.
As per WithoutACrystallBall, the final verdict denied the retrial as the appeal wasn’t strong enough. Three judges announced this decision in Springdale, Arkansas. The decision was made on August 7. It was in line with the rulings of Judge Timothy L. Brooks. Hence, Josh will have to spend the remaining 9 years in prison with no scope of an early release. This Duggar News pleased the fans owing to the nature of his crime.
