In the last few seasons of DDWTD, Darian, i.e., the eldest child in the family, had to go through a whirlwind of emotions. That’s because she graduated high school and wanted to pursue a higher education. She aimed high, and her first choice was New York University. She has a passion for music and wants to pursue a course in the field.
But, it was rather devastating when Darian found out about her rejection from NYU. While her mother Karen encouraged her to look for backup colleges, her father, Deon, didn’t seem too sure about it. For some reason, he was against Karen encouraging their daughter to pursue music. But in a new post, he made a massive declaration!
DDWTD: Deon Declares Darian Won’t Go To College! Can’t Afford It Due To Financial Crunch After Divorce?
As mentioned before, Doubling Down With The Derricos fans saw things turn pretty dramatic in the last season. They saw Deon and Karen locking horns many times over various things, be it their decision to move out or Darian’s education. But no one had expected them to announce their divorce this year. As per the reports, the patriarch also pays $1100 monthly in child support for all 13 kids (not Darian, as she is an adult now).
In a new Instagram story, Deon shared a statistic report. He mentioned how 86% of people with college debt feel that their degree isn’t worth the “college loans” they have to carry. After sharing this, he mentioned how the family decided it would be better if Darian didn’t go to college. It was rather shocking for the audience to see this.
They remember how Darian was reluctant about his daughter going to college early on. Some believe that he may have doubled down on his decision and convinced everyone else, too, as the divorce is also causing the family some financial crunch. But there is no certainty to it. Fans will have to wait for new social media updates to know for sure.
They find it odd that Darian herself has not addressed this decision to not attend college and neither did her mother Karen.
