Actress Marci Miller is furious with the way her character’s exit was panned out. It looks like she did not like that the soap opera got rid of the legacy role like this. In an interview with SOD, Days of Our Lives, head writer Ron Carlivati revealed the real reason for killing Abigail DiMera. He revealed that the only reason they are killing Abigail DiMera is that Marci Miller has decided not to sign a full-time contract. However, the actor who plays the character says that there were plenty of ways in which the soap could have handled it.
Opening up on this topic, Miller says that she had a very hard time accepting this decision. She says that there are a variety of ways in which DOOL can handle this. Long-time Days of Our Lives viewers would know that Marci Miller and Kate Mansi often played Abigail’s character. Taking that into account, Miller says that she did not know what Kate Mansi’s schedule looked like. However, she thought that the character would get recast.
Miller continues to say that she felt that it should have been a recast. She hoped that they could bring an actress who could stick for a good amount of time. Moreover, the actress revealed that she was “floored” when she came to know that DOOL was getting rid of the character.
