Cynthia Plaster Caster Inspires Miley Cyrus For Another Crazy GIG

February is undoubtedly Miley Cyrus’s month. She won her first Grammy for her iconic song “Flowers” and made a cameo in a blockbuster film, Ethan Coen’s Drive-Away Dolls. It has become famous for showcasing the exploitation of cinema. But that is not the only thing the movie is in talks for. It also features a notable cameo by singer-songwriter Miley Cyrus.

In the movie, Cyrus appears in a few flashbacks, playing the role of Tiffany Plastercaster. As we have already seen before, nothing is too much for the Prisoner singer, and neither was this role. But surprisingly, her cameo in the movie is inspired by Cynthia Albritton, also famously known as Cynthia Plaster Caster.

Cynthia was known for casting the genitals of famous musicians into plaster. While it sounds a bit absurd, the artist never shied away from following her passion. As for Miley Cyrus, she has never been afraid to take risks, and her taking on the role inspired by Cynthia Plaster Caster proves it.

For the unversed, Cynthia’s college art teacher suggested she try making plaster casts in the 60s. For some reason, Albritton decided to focus on penises. Moreover, in 1968, she made casts for Hendrix and his bass player Noel Redding. Though Frank Zappa was also part of the band, he decided not to participate. But he did help Cynthia Albritton to move to Los Angeles.

It might come as a surprise, but Albritton was not the only plaster caster of the time, though she was the most famous one. However, her success reached its peak when she appeared in a documentary called “Groupies” in 1970. There were many reviews regarding the documentary and the work done by these Groupies for their favorites. While some appreciated it, critics called them the sickest of the groups.

Despite that, it never stopped the audience from enjoying Groupies. But surprisingly, Albritton filed a complaint saying that the documentary did not showcase her properly as an artist. She also claimed that the documentary did not represent her personality as an artist or performer.

Moreover, she requested that the film should be blocked. However, a year later, the judge denied Cynthia Albritton’s request. The judgment stated that there wasn’t enough evidence proving Albritton’s statement. It also claimed the documentary material to be of “legitimate public interest.”

Sadly, Cynthia Albritton passed away in 2022. Hence, Miley Cyrus’s role will be a homage to the Plaster Caster. Stay tuned! TV Season & Spoilers will keep you updated on more such updates about Miley Cyrus.
