The arrest of Counting On alum Josh Duggar has torn apart the entire Duggar family. The charges are very serious, and the TV star could end up behind bars for 20 years. He was arrested back on April 29, 2021, and spent a week in prison until his release on bond on May 6. Even though out, Josh will not be allowed to return home to his pregnant wife Anna Duggar and minor children. Hence, he will now have to stay with some “close friends”. Also, he has to follow some strict rules during home confinement. Here’s a detailed look at the topic.
Counting On: Josh Duggar To Stay With Pastor Lacount Reber & His Wife
TLC alum Josh Duggar was arrested on charges of possession of child pornography depicting abuse of children below the age of 12. As of now, he has been released on bond but won’t be allowed to return home. As per reports by Us Weekly, during a hearing of his case, Judge Christy Comstock refused to send the 33-year-old TV star back home. This is because he has his six minor children there, alongside other minors too. Hence, he would require a third-party custodian to live with. However, they should not have any minors at home.
Hence, Us Weekly confirmed that some close friends of the Duggar family have been stepping up for that responsibility. Lacount Reber, who is a pastor, and his wife Maria Reber will be allowing Josh to stay with them. Some concerns related to their house, including Maria being a piano teacher who gives lessons to children, were also sorted out. The mother of a 22-year-old daughter assured the Probation office that her music classes would be shifting somewhere else. However, there will be plenty of rules that the Duggar family member will have to follow.
Counting On: Duggar Has To Follow Rules Under Home Confinement, Can Meet Only His Own Children
Josh Duggar, who has previous accusations of molesting multiple girls as a 14-15-year-old, is out of prison on bond for his child pornography case. While he has to stay with his third-party custodians, the 33-year-old will have to follow a bunch of rules. First off, he isn’t allowed to be around any children other than his in any condition. Besides, Josh will be monitored via a GPS. Thereby, he can only leave Reber’s house when he has to see his wife and kids. Even though he wasn’t allowed to stay at his own house, Duggar can have unlimited contact with family, mainly Anna Duggar and his children.
On the other hand, there are only a few circumstances that will allow him to step out of home conviction. This includes going to the church, work, legal appointments, or when he requires medical care. As per reports, Josh Duggar’s trial for the child pornography case will be in July 2021.
