Coronation Street Star Bruce Jones’ Shocking Career Move

A former Coronation Street star, Bruce Jones, shocked fans with his switching of career from an actor to a wrestler. Jones was popular for his portrayal of Les Battersby in Corrie from 1997 to 2007. However, recently, he brought back his ‘Les look’- a black T-shirt and a pair of jeans. The only difference is that he made his appearance in the rings, carrying his soap avatar.

The soap star made his first wrestling appearance at SOVPRO (Sovereign Pro Wrestling). The match was held at the Trinity Sports Centre in Manchester, with a 200-person audience in attendance. The Coronation Street legend entered the ring grooving to ‘Rocking All Over The World,’ which also depicts Les’ choice of music.

Jones, who left Coronation Street to pursue ZZ Top tribute band, reveals that the wrestling thing was a brief appearance as Les Battersby for the PR until it wasn’t. He stated to The Guardian, “So, they were like: ‘You don’t mind getting knocked about in the ring a bit, do you?”

Jones’ fellow wrestler, Sam Gradwell, shared a few pictures with the Coronation Street star on Twitter (X). He captioned, “How often do you get back from your match, and a hammered Les Battersby is waiting for you with a beer to congratulate you on your win?”

Gradwell added, “I thought you lads were gonna f**kin kill each other!’ Life is a fever dream.” For more such Coronation Street and its stars updates, stay tuned to TV Season & Spoilers!
