‘I Had An Essential Tremor’ Discloses Coronation Street Actor
Coronation Street actor Rob Mallard (Daniel Osbourne) shared his experience of living with a tremor he’s had since he was just 14. In a conversation with BBC One’s Morning Live, Rob opened up about his essential tremor, a condition causing involuntary shaking.
He revealed how, initially, doctors were puzzled, conducting various tests over a year. Ultimately, they diagnosed him with essential tremor, stating there was no cure. Coronation Street actor admitted he pushed it aside, thinking there was nothing to be done. However, in his early 20s, he decided to confront it when the tremors worsened.
That’s when he realized its potential degenerative nature over time. He even remembered receiving hurtful comments online. People said it looked like he was ‘drunk’ or ‘withdrawing from something.’ He said, “I had longer hair then, with a quiff, and when I watched it back, all you could see was the hair shaking.”
The Coronation Street heartthrob admitted to hiding it because he thought it might stop him from getting work. But now, people are making even worse guesses. So, he was forced to make a clear choice. And guess what? He chose to be honest and that had been the best thing he had done.
Daniel’s Has A ‘Hand Double’

The actor discloses that, at times, Coronation Street uses someone else’s hand. He even joked, “I have a hand double – I’ve made it!” Back in Weatherfield, there are strong rumors about Daniel attacking Nathan Curtis.
