Coronation Street: Is Amy Barlow Getting Herself Into More LEGAL Trouble?

Amy Barlow (Elle Mulvaney) has had a rough year on Coronation Street and nobody is denying it.. Aaron Sandford raped her, and she struggled to make everyone believe the truth. But now it seems like Amy is all out to take revenge. But in the name of revenge, Amy is putting herself into legal trouble. Showmakers have hinted that we might see Amy going beyond unexpected lengths. What all trouble will Amy get herself into? What will make her stop?

Coronation Street: Amy Gets Arrested!!

Amy Barlow has not recovered from the trauma of being raped by Aaron Sandford (James Craven). In the upcoming episodes of Coronation Street, Amy makes banners for the anti-spiking march. Her dad, Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson), shares his worry with Summer Spellman (Harriet Bibby), he’s worried about Amy and hopes she’d put the same focus into her degree. While Amy was leaving along with  Summer, Evelyn Plummer (Maureen Lipman), and Cassie Plummer (Claire Sweeney), they bumped into Mason Radcliffe (Luca Toone). He and his friends made disparaging comments.

Amy got furious and goes up to Mason to hit him. A police officer saw her and asked her to put it down. To Summer’s surprise, Amy argues with the officer and paints his car with spray paint. She gets arrested for criminal damage. Later, she lies to Steve and Tracy McDonald (Kate Ford) that the march went well and she is leaving to submit her essay. Amy promises Asha Alahan (Tanisha Gorey) that she has learned her lesson and she’ll seek alternatives to be heard. But as soon as she sees Dylan Wilson (Liam McCheyne) getting bullied by Mason, she drops her plan. She urges him to take action against Mason.

“Amy Will Find Herself Driven To Some Fairly Extreme Lengths,” Says Show Maker

In the coming week of Coronation Street, at a nightclub, Amy witnesses a guy spiking a woman’s drink. She rushes over to smack it away before escorting her to the ladies. Amy shares that a man like Dan raped her, and she’s trying to protect other women from suffering the same fate. While the woman applauds her, she flirtingly approaches Dan. What is she really up to? Is Amy ready to put herself into even more problems by attempting to get her own revenge on men?

Coronation Street producer Iain MacLeod, in a conversation with Express.co.uk, explained: “We wanted to keep the sense of Amy bubbling along and that she, despite outward appearances, is profoundly affected as she would be for the rest of her life really. So there is another chapter of this, we wanted this to be the final catharsis that doesn’t allow Amy to move on exactly because I don’t know that you ever can but to enter a different chapter of her reaction to what went on.”

He added that Amy will find herself driven to some fairly extreme lengths in what she sees as an attempt to right some wrongs, and she feels that she is acting in an entirely justified way. He continued that, eventually, it would fall to one of her friends to pull her back from the brink before she criminalizes herself. What do you think is going to happen?
