A fan favourite of Coronation Street reveals his real-life battle. Alan Halsall, popularly known as Tyrone Dobbs, whose character always has a nice smile , was in a lot of pain behind the camera. Halsall shared the saddening news via an Instagram post. In the leg surgery, one of the ligaments in his knee has been replaced. He will take about a year to recover after this major surgery. Fans are in awe of him as he has been managing to hide all the pain behind his smile.
Alan Shares A Picture After Surgery
Alan who has played Tyrone Dobbs on the Coronation Street since 1998, shared about his leg surgery through social media. The 41-year-old actor, while sharing a picture from the hospital bed, wrote, “ACL Reconstruction surgery ✔️. Well, On Friday I underwent ACL reconstruction surgery. I have been told the surgery went really well. Alan underwent an Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) surgery in which basically a tissue graft replaces torn ligament. The Coronation Street star informed that he is in the right direction of recovery, but the road to would be long.
Talking about the recovery period, Alan said, “I know I have a long 9-12 months of rehabilitation ahead of me, but I’m sure with the support of family & friends I’ll get there,” he continued. Alan praised Oaklands Clinic’s nursing staff. Also, he thanked his “very own nurse Ratched”, partner Tisha Drew Merry. According to reports, Alan suffered his injury over the summer. It led to a ligament in his knee needing to be totally replaced.
Coronation Street Co-Stars Comment Their Warm Wishes
Alan’s post got over 4,000 likes, with his fans sending their good luck wishes. Also, his Coronation Street co-stars commented their support messages. On-screen sister Jane Dobson (Leanne Battersby) expressed, “Oh Al hope you’re ok, love! We’ll all look after you in Weatherfield!” Colson Smith (Craig Tinker) commented, “Get that rested up for Christmas party!” His on-screen mum, Clare Sweeney, posted, “This is great news, glad it was a success.” Former Corrie star Ryan Thomas shared a love heart emoji. The string was joined by Georgia Taylor (Toyah Battersby), who penned: “Aw, recover well, darling.”
Meanwhile, a few comments had some pieces of advice for Alan, Trevor Dwyer-Lynch wrote, “Do your exercises RELIGIOUSLY brother – I had a full titanium knee replacement a year [ago] best thing ever, but you need discipline physio hospital and at home.” Amidst the news, fans wonder what his injury might mean for his rumoured appearance in the next edition of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, as there were rumours that he might appear in the jungle.
