Alex Bain Counts His Last Days In Coronation Street
After 15 years on Coronation Street, Alex Bain, who plays Simon Barlow, is saying goodbye to the soap. He’s been part of the show since he was a little kid, but now, he’s getting ready to leave very soon. In his latest Instagram post, he shared a pic from his dressing room and wrote an emotional message.
With a heavy heart, the actor penned, “I can’t believe it’s almost over. I’m really going to miss this place!” Simon’s been through a lot lately in Coronation Street. First, his dad left, and then he started feeling really lonely. So, he turned to drinking to cope. But things got out of hand, and he ended up in a car crash with Sam.
Currently, Simon and Leanne are in the midst of a super sketchy cult storyline. The mother-son duo first thought that the fishy group, The Institute, was a self-help group. Simon, along with his mum, even started going to their seminars not long ago. They totally fell for the smooth-talking lecturer, Rowan.
The mentor wrapped around his finger with all his sweet talk. However, Coronation Street has tackled cults before. Back in 1998, they had this storyline with Zoe Tattersall. She got involved with the Etheric Foundation, a bunch of folks who were all about selling crystals and following their leader, Nirab.
So, it’s not the first time the show’s gone down the cult rabbit hole. Let us see how this one meets its climax. For more Coronation Street updates, keep coming back to TV Season & Spoilers!
