Todd and Julie have been having a hard time adjusting to prison. They are in jail for fraud and evasion of taxes. But the couple got some good news when the court had progressed their appeal. And now the Chrisley Knows Best couple got some motivating news again. Julie and Todd won a substantial amount in a lawsuit settlement. This was with regard to a previous court case about investigation misconduct.
Chrisley Knows Best: Julie & Todd Win Million Dollar Settlement
Though Julie and Todd are surrounded by negativity in prison, the couple recently got some good news. Attorney Alex Little revealed that Todd and Julie got a $1 million settlement in a lawsuit. He called it an “encouraging sign” for the couple’s next appeal hearing.
Alex Little had revealed this news on Tuesday when he explained the couple had won a case against Joshua Waites. He had revealed that Todd and Julie had sued Waites for misconduct in the investigation against the Chrisleys in 2019. Waites is the former Director of Special Investigations who had “specifically” targeted the family. Little also said it was an “unprecedented” victory.
People also said that Chrisley’s former lawyer, Michael Bowers, opposed Waites. He called Waites an “out-of-control public servant,” abusing “innocent citizens” for fame. Michael had also said that Waites had been targeting the family for years, going after Todd and Lindsie. He had also tried to get information on the family from Lindsie. However, he was unable to do so.
After he failed with Lindsie, Waites allegedly shared some Chrisley tax information with her. But now he has lost the case. Michael said the Chrisleys faced “substantial personal and financial hardship.” The Chrisley Know Best couple’s attorney, Alex, is very happy with the settlement. It has made him more hopeful about the April 2024 appeal.
Chrisley Knows Best: Kids Visit Julie On Her Birthday
Julie Chrisley is in prison in Kentucky, away from her kids and husband. And though she thought she would be out soon, the star still has to celebrate her birthday in jail. The one thing that did cheer her up, though, was that Savannah and the kids would visit her.
Savannah Chrisley took Grayson and Chloe to visit their mom in prison. Julie had to celebrate her 51st birthday there. But the star had hoped it would be her “last” one here. A source revealed Savannah’s plan to take the kids to the Institute to PEOPLE. The whole family is hoping that they will be together again soon.
Chrisley’s family attorney, Alex Little, has been sharing updates about the family. He had shared that Julie was “optimistic.” The Chrisley Knows Best star hopes the court will accept their oral appeal. In the meantime, she is enjoying her 51st birthday with the kids.
