According to a DOJ press release, Chrisleys invested the money in luxury cars, designer clothes, travel, and real estate. Todd and Julie Chrisley from USA Network’s Chrisley Knows Best obtained loans by submitting incorrect loans. Allegations say that they did so by giving false bank statements, audit reports, and financial statements. Judge Eleanor L. Ross sentenced Todd Chrisley to twelve years of prison. On the other hand, the court has penalized Julie Chrisley with seven years of jail. Furthermore, the court has sentenced their accountant, Peter Tarantino, to three years in prison.
However, prosecutors had initially assumed that Todd and Julie Chrisley would receive a minimum of 22 and 12 years of jail, respectively. Court has also accused Julie of wire fraud and obstruction of justice. According to an NBC Report, the Chrisleys are supposed to report to their prisons in Florida on January 17, 2023. The real-estate owner, Todd Chrisley, is expected to serve his time in Federal Prison Camp Pensacola. Whereas, his wife will serve her period at Federal Correctional Institution Marianna. The prisons are away from each other. The travel time is estimated to be 2 and a half hours. Although the couple’s attorney has filed a bail appeal, reports say that the court will likely reject it.
The court’s decision on the bail is not out yet, but it could affect the Chrisleys’ timing in prison. The family attorney, Alex Little, gave a statement to NBC News. He stated that Chriselys are facing a difficult time but are people of faith. He added that their faith would provide them the strength to fight it. Further, he concluded that serious errors by government officials and lies regarding taxes marred their trial. Alex is still hopeful for the family based on these errors.

Chrisleys also run a podcast called Chrisley Confessions, which last aired on December 14. The couple talked about their legal issues in the episode. Todd expressed he knows everyone wants to know how they are feeling. They are doing as well as they can and have placed their faith in God.
