Amy Reisenbach On Renewing The Show
While renewing Blood and Treasure Season 2, the EVP of Current Programs at CBS says that the show is a fun adventure. She says that it has comedic elements that are filmed in a number of locations across the globe. Not just that, Blood and Treasure is also a great performer for the network.
Blood and Treasure Season 2 had received an early renewal. The show was renewed when the first season was only five episodes into the airing. While renewing the show, Amy Reisenbach also revealed that the upcoming second season would take viewers to Southeast Asia and Russia.
New Faces On Board!
For the cast of Blood and Treasure Season 2, viewers might get to see some new faces too. Actress Paget Brewster is coming in the upcoming installment. She is joining the cast for a recurring role. Brewster will play the character of a resourceful nun in Rome who has a light sense of humor. Her character is called sister Lisa who is also friends with Father Chuck Donnelly. While Father Chuck is on the run with the mystery, he goes to sister Lisa for information. The last viewers got to see Brewster was in the fifteenth season of Criminal Minds.
Other than this new addition, most of the original cast of Blood and Treasure will return for season 2. This includes Matt Barr, Sofia Pernas, Michael James Shaw. Katia Winter, James Callis, Alicia Copeland, Mark Galliard. All of them will reprise their roles for the upcoming season.
Blood and Treasure Season 2: 2021 Release Date?
It has been a long time since Blood and Treasure Season 2 was renewed. The show was renewed in July 2019, and all fans had expected that it would release sometime in the summer of 2020. However, now it looks like the release date will be delayed. A few months back, Matthew Federman, the creator of the show, took on to Twitter to update all fans that they hadn’t completed the shooting when everything paused because of the COVID-19. With that said, he also assured that they would get back to shooting only when everything was safe. We do not have any information regarding if the team has got back into production or not.
The show will have major because of the international locations that are often a part of the backdrop for Blood and Treasure. It is also possible that the streaming network would bring the show in parts. For example, they could divide the script into two parts and release the first batch of episodes. With that said, it is also possible that the creators are eager to keep the series off the schedule now and give it a night slot later on. Being very hopeful, fans can expect a 2021 release date.
