Coronation Street actor Matt Milburn discussed the possible departure of his character, Tommy Oprington. Is it the aftermath of the affair revelation with Tracy McDonald? The shocking expose took place in Monday’s episode, which left fans wondering what’s next for the troubled character.
However, it seems like it is sort of working in Tracy and Tommy’s favor as they officially become a couple. But the coming week spell a separation for the illicit pair. It is because, in the coming Friday episode (March 1, 2024), the footballer accepts a job role as an assistant coach at a football academy in Spain.
Coronation Street actor Matt revealed that his character is firm in his belief that long-term relationships are not in his picture anymore. However, now he has defied his own notions by getting serious about Tracy. The soap star emphasised that he hasn’t completely let go of that idea.
Talking about Tommy’s Coronation Street exit, Milburn shared that his character is at a crossroads. Certainly, he wants to go ahead with the relationship. But the thought of Tracy refusing to accompany him fills him with worry. The soap actor expressed, “From a Matt Milburn selfish point of view, I’d love him to stay with Tracy because that would mean I stay for longer from an acting perspective!”

When it comes to the storyline, Matt shares that Tommy does feel apologetic towards Steve for stealing his woman. Especially because he technically worships Tommy. However, the painter is very well aware of Steve’s emotional being.
