Carrie Underwood recently made headlines after replacing Katy Perry for American Idol for the 2025 season. Longtime fans are thrilled to have Carrie as the new judge since her win on the show in season 4 in 2005, launching her career as a successful country music career. Over the years, she has delivered hits like Before He Cheats and If I Didn’t Love You.
While in prep to take upon her role as a judge, Carrie is also exploring new options to expand her family. In the past years, she has faced a series of miscarriages. So, she is taking new steps toward motherhood. So, what options is Carrie considering? Let’s find out.
American Idol: Carrie Underwood Is Considering Adoption!
Carrie Underwood and her husband, Mike Fisher, are parents to sons Isaiah, 9, and Jacob, 5. However, in a mini-documentary, the American Idol judge opened up about her multiple painful miscarriages before welcoming Jacob. “It sounds wrong when you say it, but it’s one of those bad things that happens to other people,” she revealed at that time.
Carrie mentioned that it’s not something that one typically imagines themselves dealing with. Recently, a source spoke to Life & Style magazine, revealing Carrie’s desire to add another member to the family. And it seems like she is considering adopting this time. “Carrie lost three babies during pregnancies before she had Jacob, and she figured that was God’s plan for her,” the insider dished.
Despite the challenges, Mike is determined to bring “another child into their home.” The insider added that the celebrity pair is in the midst of an adoption process. “They’ve met with lawyers about it,” they continued, emphasizing that their sons are ecstatic about having a little brother or sister joining the family.
A friend of Mike’s also revealed that he has not been considering coaching offers to focus on expanding their family. They said, “Mike has had tons of offers to go into coaching, and that appeals to him. But he figures his place is with his family — and not being away eight months out of the year during hockey season.” Notably, Mike is a retired professional ice hockey center. The pair is also occupied with their Las Vegas residence, which is coming to an end in October.
