Stevi’s dad, Perry, once told her that people do not treat women well in Iran. He asked the same questions to Mahdi, and he accepted it. Mahdi further added that women in Iran have a set of rules they must follow regarding the clothes they wear. Iran has a very hard set of standards for them. Furthermore, if a woman wanted to leave the country, she couldn’t. She can only leave with her husband.
The husband will have to sign their property, and only then they can leave. Perry added that this was one of his concerns. Mahdi grew up in a certain way and would expect the same from Stevi. Mahdi was having a hard time proving himself. At the dinner table, Perry further grilled Mahdi about his intentions with Stevi.
