For instance, Niles wanted to meet Matilda during his first trip to Ghana. But the latter was expecting a wedding, and her whole family knew. Niles told the marriage fiasco situation to his barber. The new 90 Day Fiance cast member revealed that he wanted to push marrying Matilda until his next trip. However, the latter had already excitedly told her family that her partner would say “I do” to her on his first trip itself. Well, Niles was worried it would cause his girlfriend’s family disgrace if he didn’t follow through.
The barber honestly advised Niles to be as honest with Matilda’s family about his intentions as possible. He also warned the new cast member that there was a chance that his girlfriend’s family might curse him. Well, this response freaked Niles out. He didn’t know what the barber was saying and didn’t even want to know what placing a curse event meant.
90 Day Fiance: Niles Gets Candid About His Struggles With Dating With Autism! Compared Matilda’s Home To A Prison
In the new 90 Day Fiance episode, another chaotic thing happened with Niles and Matilda. While talking to her, he accidentally compared her house to a prison. She was hurt and began to say it would have been awful had her mother heard such a statement. That’s when Niles decided to open up about his struggles of living with Autism.
Niles said that even when he knows the norms and things he is supposed to do, following through on them becomes difficult due to his autism. He was glad that his girlfriend understood how this aspect of him affected his life in a big way. The newbie addressed that, for this very reason, dating and relationships haven’t been easy for him.
The American man also expressed what masking is. It’s a coping mechanism that makes him appear neurotypical. But Matilda told Niles that he shouldn’t mask infront of her and should be honest. However, she did ask him to be more mindful when they were with her family or in public places that she didn’t like. While Niles said that this change wouldn’t take place overnight, he wanted to try.
