Apparently, 20K is the initial amount that a person has to pay when it comes to “misdemeanor domestic violence.” Mahmoud will now have to go in front of the court in mid-March. He would have to present himself even if Nicole decides not to press any charges against him. This is because the district attorney will always have a door open to proceed with a case in such cases.
