After his father, Poppy, passed away last year at the age of 90, all he has now is his dear mom. While Amber and Trent arranged an assisted living home for his dad during his last few months, Nana is left to decide her future.
From the beginning of Season 15 of the show, viewers witnessed Trent worrying about his dad’s declining health. He is a rock for his family and a source of stability and strength during family crises. His children support him in making decisions for his father and their grandfather. However, he certainly is not doing well in terms of health. He learned he has critical brain issues.

In just a few episodes of the new season, Trent Johnston admitted he is living with strange dizzy spells. Hence, he underwent an MRI to know what exactly he was suffering from. The 7 Little Johnstons couple appeared upset when he and Amber went out to get the test results. According to Liz’s father, his brain problems started with him feeling he had vertigo symptoms.
However, it’s worse than what Trent expected it to be. Later, he visited his doctor’s clinic to get a clear idea of his health. As the doctor checked his health reports, he eventually informed the reality star that his brain was drastically reduced. The 47-year-old’s brain has become the size of an 80 to 81-year-old man’s brain. Trent has now told his family this devastating news.

Trent Johnston had to have an emotional sit-down with his mom, Nana, to talk about her future. The exclusive sneak peek of Tuesday’s episode showed the TLC celeb visiting Poppy and Nana’s home alongside his sister, Heidi, and wife, Amber. The four of them discussed the necessary living change Nana needed as she got older.
Heidi and Trent prepared to shift dad, Poppy, to an elderly care facility while their mother moved to Heidi’s house. In the video, Heidi convinced Nana that she will be happy once everything is set. In the confessional part, both the 7 Little Johnstons stars, Amber and Trent, acknowledged Nana’s “fear of change.”
Trent and Amber called it the “Nana’s biggest obstacle” and “biggest challenge.” However, later, Nana also confessed that receiving a little extra and special help from children is part of growing older. “Sometimes it’s a hard realization, but yet you realize where you are in life,” she added while looking at the camera.
Nana explained that she struggles a lot with mobility and memory at her age, which is 78. Talking with his mom, Trent asserted that he would implement his plans over the next few months.
