TLC celeb Tammy Slaton’s doctor, Dr. Brad Turner didn’t approve of her for skin removal surgery. After weighing in at 303 pounds on the October 15 episode, Dr. Eric Smith recommended the surgery to Tammy. But things took a turn on November 14 when Brad explained why Tammy is not currently a candidate for the procedure.
Despite losing an incredible amount of weight, Brad asked Tammy to lose more weight to be able to go under the knife. He also pointed out that since she had a weight loss surgery 13 or 14 months back, she isn’t eligible. He further advised her to reach her goal weight for another six months to a year and then revisit for the surgery. This news has been discouraging to Tammy, but the doctor motivated her to not lose hope.

Reality TV star Tammy Slaton shared her sweet reaction to her new weight. She reflected on how she weighed 281 pounds when she was a child, studying in fourth or fifth grade. Surprisingly now, Tammy weighs less than his older brother, Chris for the very first time in decades.
Tammy described her experience as “mind-blowing”, implying that she is no more the “big” baby sister to Chris. She further revealed she lost 20 pounds over three months after weighing 303 pounds during the last doctor’s visit. In a confessional video, Chris confessed to have never thought Tammy becoming smaller than him in weight.
Thereby, Chris recalled Tammy’s history of being big all the time. In the clip posted by TLC on Instagram, he reacted with excitement. He told Tammy, “I’ll be goddamned. Congratulations, that’s good!” Tammy’s weight loss journey has been documented in the show since 2020, when she was 725 pounds.
For the first two years, Tammy could only drop 200 pounds after her doctor suggested her bariatric surgery. However, she lost 300 pounds the next year and 440 pounds by April 2024.
