In a conversation with TheSun, Dr. Richard Westreich, a plastic surgeon, revealed that skin tends to gather under the chin after excessive sudden weight loss like Tammy had. It is a common after-effect of bariatric surgery as skin is unable to shrink in the proportion of weight loss. It can be rectified with plastic surgery but is a lenghthy and costly procedure. Dr. Richard says a “neck lift” would cost around $35,000 and will take four to five hours. Moreover, to rectify her abdominal area, they have to perform an abdominoplasty, which would cost around $20,000.
Further, if Tammy goes for a “leg lift,” it would cost around $15,000 and will take two hours. Then comes the extra skin under her arms. Well, for this, doctors will perform Brachioplasty. It will cost around $15,000 and will take two hours. Hence, the grand total will be $85,000!

It seems evident that TLC will not cover the cost of 1000 Lb Sisters star Tammy’s costly treatment. So she has to pay for herself. Apparently, doctors have made it clear that if Tammy wants to rectify her skin situation, she must pay $85,000. But they have also warned that if she regains weight in her life again, her skin will stretch and return to its original form.
