While she began her journey at 303 pounds, she continued to shed more pounds. In a video shared by TLC on Instagram on November 13, Tammy revealed that she now weighs less than her brother, Chris.
Chris weighs 284 pounds which is more than Tammy. She further reflected on the importance of her weight loss in the clip. For her, the last time she was at 281 pounds was when she was studying in fourth or fifth grade. She proudly highlighted that she is no longer the “big baby sister.” Even Chris expressed his happiness and surprise, noting that he never thought of seeing Tammy slimmer than him.
1000 Lb Sisters: Tammy Is Heartbroken By Doctor’s Update!
Tammy Slaton’s doctor, Brad Turner informed her that she is not yet eligible for the skin removal surgery. A preview video of the November 19 episode from 1000 Lb Sisters features Tammy, Chris, Brittany, and their doctor. Brad explained that it’s still too soon for Tammy to undergo the next surgery.
According to Turner, Tammy is in the 13 or 14 months post-weight loss surgery phase and should recover from the earlier procedure. He advised her to continue losing weight over the next six months to a year before revisiting the possibility of surgery. This news actually follows the suggestion of Dr. Eric Smith for Tammy.
Smith asked Tammy to consider skin removal surgery after she weighed 303 pounds during an October appointment. Although Tammy looked clearly frustrated and disappointed with the update, Turner motivated her to not lose hope. After the clip went viral among Tammy’s fans, they quickly offered words of encouragement.
