When fans first saw Tammy, she was over 700lbs. She also had mobility issues and other health issues. The 1000 Lb Sisters star could not move or do basic everyday tasks, which frustrated her. So, she and her sister Amy decided to lose the excess weight to become fitter.
Initially, Tammy had a little difficulty in reaching her goal. She was not able to shed much weight and reach her target. Fans had also suggested the star participate in the other TLC show, my 600 Lb Life, but Tammy didn’t. However, she did decide to get into a weight-loss rehab in Ohio.
Tammy’s rehab trip was a success on two fronts. She lost a ton of weight and met the love of her life, Caleb, in rehab. The star was also able to qualify for a bariatric surgery as well. And in Season 5, fans saw her reach her lowest weight yet. Tammy was able to lose 440 Lbs, and she is now 285 lbs. It was an emotional moment for Tammy as she had seen a lot of struggles along the way. But she finally overcame them all. She reached her lowest weight since her teenage years!
Now, Tammy is living her best life. Her confidence is also at an all-time high. She is enjoying all the activities she couldn’t previously do because of her heavy weight. The 1000 Lb Sisters star has taken a plane ride, a boat ride, gone dolphin-watching, and sat behind the car wheel. She also visited the beach as she was now more mobile at 285lbs. Fans also love this new and cheerful Tammy. She had also been more open on social media, posting photos and videos.
1000 Lb Sisters: Tammy Is Different Now Than She Was In The Beginning
Initially, the fans didn’t like Tammy much. They thought she was very rude and inconsiderate of others’ feelings. In fact, they also went as far as to say that she was unlikeable. But the fan opinions have changed completely now.
Since Tammy lost weight, she has been happier and more cheerful. The 1000 Lb Sisters star is also very confident now. She is even addressing an attitude change, revealing that she had been in pain when she was heavier. But now that she is slimmer, Tammy is also gentler.
