1000 Lb Sisters star Tammy Slaton traveled to Pennsylvania with sisters Amy and Misty to meet a new plastic surgeon, Dr. Peter Rubin. While her last surgeon refused to handle her complicated case, she wished to get approval for the surgery from the new doctor. She expressed her desire to remove excess skin from her stomach, arms, legs, and face to her doctor.
Tammy explained how the extra skin impacted her balance and made her walk with difficulty, making her feel like a penguin. She hoped they could get it done at once, but he clarified that each part would require separate procedures. As Dr. Rubin approved her for surgery on her lower stomach and chin, she smiled with joy.
However, Tammy’s moment of happiness was brief since he told her to get her protein levels up. He also inquired whether she had any lung problems. This led Tammy to reveal her secret of vaping. “I do vape. I mainly use it for anxiety. It helps calm me down,” Tammy told the doctor and his teammate. She admitted to vaping regularly, multiple times a day. She went on to explain that she sometimes has to vape in the middle of the night to help her sleep.
Dr. Rubin explained to Tammy that nicotine can lead to infection or complications in wound healing. Hence, he urged her to get rid of vapes completely and get proper nutrition for two months.
