Later on, TLC cast him as one of the main cast members aside from his sisters, Tammy and Amy Slaton. Luckily, he came through and underwent bariatric surgery last year. Chris Combs first became a side cast member of 1000 Lb Sisters Season 2. Later on, the network roped him as the lead from Season 3. As per a segment, the star said his father’s untimely death due to obesity gave him the courage to look after himself. Unfortunately, he passed away at 57. Back then, Chris was 41 and expressed his wish to live a full life with his family, including kids and even grandkids around him. Initially, he weighed 482 Lbs when his journey began.
Later on, he had to face tons of obstacles due to other health issues like enlarged liver, boil in his leg, etc. Unfortunately, this led to a delay in his weight loss journey, and he gained a few pounds. Yet the celebrity was consistent after he recovered and soon got to qualify for the bariatric procedure. Hence, he surgically lost 140 Lbs. Luckily, he healed quickly and continues to do wonders. That’s because he ended up shedding 40 pounds in 4 months post-recovery.
Hence, all the 1000 Lb Sister fans constantly praise him for being the most consistent cast member. In contrast, not even his half-sisters Amy or Tammy Slaton have been in line with their weight loss journey. Therefore, Chris has undoubtedly become the most fav star for the fans. Apparently, Chris Combs has a lot of pros to add to his list since his intense surgery. Not only does he continue to be a healthy person, but he beat an existing pre-existing disease. As per the finale episode of the third season, the cast member gathered everyone around to show off his transformed body in a new suit. Apart from this, he also revealed that losing so much weight has led to his diabetes being under control. Hence, the TV star could go off his medication for the same.
Eventually, his journey also struck an emotional chord with the fans. That’s because the Kentucky resident stated going on this weight loss journey to be there for his family.
