1000 Lb Sisters star Amanda Halterman, like her siblings, often posts on social media to keep their fans updated about their life and whereabouts. She posted a TikTok video on June 7. Wherein a fan asked her to talk about her childhood as he perceived that she had a difficult upbringing. To this, the reality TV celeb responded by saying that she had a different upbringing when compared to others. Then being a concerned elder sister, Amanda said that she would not share anything about her childhood in detail. She then continued that sharing about her past would also reveal a lot about her siblings’ past. And that she is unsure if they are ready to share about that phase of their life.
Amanda then threw some light on their financial troubles as she said that they lived a poor life. She then mentioned that her mother was a single parent of five kids. This 1000 Lb Sisters celeb then added that her grandmother took care of and raised all her siblings. Halterman even mentioned that her Uncle Kevin also played a crucial role in their upbringing and that all her siblings are still close to him. The TLC personality then shared about her childhood trauma.
She mentioned that her mother’s brother, Uncle Charles killed her grandfather by adding antifreeze to his tea. Amanda also stated that she was merely six years old at the time of this incident, but she still remembers that her grandfather was very special to her. Halterman even remembers many moments they shared and that this incident was very tough for all of them.

This forty-two-year-old 1000 Lb Sisters star then expressed that she must not be expected to share everything about her upbringing. This Kentucky native continued by saying that being a part of such a transparent reality show, all her siblings are honest and clear about their lives. She then added that some things are meant to be undercover. Amanda then continued saying that she and her family want people to treat them the way they are and not feel pity or sympathy for them.
During the end of this TikTok video, Amanda oozed with love when she said that all Slaton siblings feel grateful for being by each other’s side.
