To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before 2 will be difficult Lara Jean and Peter Kavinsky. Their relationship will be threatened with the return of John Ambrose McClaren, Lara’s adult crush. We don’t know if fans will accept this love triangle as Lara-Peter received a massive amount of love for their chemistry. The Netflix Original is inspired by the romance trilogy by Jenny Han.
Initially released in August 2018, the movies is a teen romance starring Lana Condor and Noah Centineo. Lana plays Lara Jean, a shy and timid teenager who writes letters for her crushes since childhood. Although, she never posts them. Her life changes at the point when her younger sister Kitty (Anna Cathcart) posts all those letters.
So years after writing them, the letters then reach to all the boys Lara has ever loved before. One of the recipients is Peter Kavinsky. Noah brilliantly plays Peter, and all the teenage girls amongst the fans, now have a crush on him. Lara and Peter’s love story blooms despite all the complications and ends up being loved by all the fans.
The sequel is suspect to create complexities in the couple’s relationship. But what exactly will happen in To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before 2?
To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before 2: What Will Happen?
The sequel is based on Jenny Han’s second book in the trilogy called P.S. I Still Love You. It will mark the return of John Ambrose. John previously showed up in the debut film for a very short scene. Having one of the letters by Lara Jean, he comes to confess that he also had a crush on her. Sadly, Jean denies his proposal back in the first part.
However, this time John is coming to stay for a while. His character will be more prominent in the sequel as he may become Lara’s new love interest. This may create problems in Jean and Kavinsky’s relationship. Though, he may not be the only reason which may set them apart.
Peter’s ex-girlfriend Gen (Emilija Baranac) will also be back to create a mess. As Lara gets close to John, Peter may reach out to Gen. This may be challenging for our favorite couple’s relationship.
To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before 2: Who’s Coming Back?
The main leads of the film, Lana and Noah will undoubtedly return. We may also get to see Emilija as Gen. However, the return of other main characters including Lara’s family is uncertain. They may be back if the story demands. Hence we may expect Anna Cathcart as Kitty, Janel Parrish as Margot and Israel Broussard as Josh in the upcoming sequel.
The showrunners are yet to cast John Ambrose. Lana Condor explains that the casting for John is very risky as they have to find someone as charming as Noah. She adds that fans would not like the movie if the actor who will play John is not as appealing as Noah. Hence, Netflix may take a while to select an actor.
To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before 2: Renewal
Netflix renewed the film back on December 19, 2018. The trailer announcement confirmed the release of the sequel to the movie. The video had Lana Condor talking to Noah about their return. At closing hints that John Ambrose will be seen in the second installment.
