Script for Edge of Tomorrow 2 Completed
Director Doug Liman recently made a big revelation related to the upcoming sequel of Edge of Tomorrow. As he said in the interview with CBM, the writing work for Edge of Tomorrow has been completed. Also, they are just waiting for the lead, Tom Cruise’s schedule. And according to that, the filming work for the sequel will begin. Also, the schedule needs to match with the another co-star of the movie, Emily Blunt.
As of now, Cruise is busy working on his globally acclaimed Mission Impossible sequels. Yes, the star is working on two back to back movies with writer-director Christopher McQuarrie. And as we all know, how many levels of dedication Cruise provide in his MI movies. In MI4, he climbed at Burj Khalifa, Dubai, UAE, in MI5 he climbed at the gate of the airplane, and in MI6, he learned to fly an actual helicopter. Therefore, the audience needs to wait so that Cruise first completes his mission movies, then go for the ambitious sci-fi movie sequel.
Liman also discussed the script of Edge of Tomorrow. As he stated, “It’s always about the script. Getting a great script is so hard, especially or an action script because – and especially for the movies I want to make – but I wan to be completely original and yet still be commercially satisfying and usually the commercially satisfying ideas are things that people had seen before, like if someone already discovered that and that’s why it shows up in movie after movie”.
Edge Of Tomorrow 2: Release Date
Even the filming schedule for the Edge of Tomorrow sequel has not been slated for now. Also, Tom Cruise tends to shoot one project per year, so this would suggest that the Edge of Tomorrow sequel might not begin filming until 2021 if the two Mission: Impossible sequels will shoot back-to-back in 2020. Therefore, the audience needs to wait for long for the eye-wrenching sci-fi movie starring Tom Cruise to return.
