The December 1 episode of General Hospital saw Lulu slipping into a coma and being sent to a long-term facility. Now, after that, we don’t know what will happen to the character. Emme Rylan has left the show. A few days ago, Emme took onto her Instagram and posted a picture of her hugged by her family and captioned it saying that some days are hard and all one needs is their whole family who they could hug.
Many General Hospital cast members wished her good luck, and that was enough to spark rumors of her leaving General Hospital. Then, later on, Emme posted an Instagram story revealing that she is getting a number of questions that she cannot answer. People are confused that maybe she chose to take a vacation or time off. But, she didn’t choose that, and that is all she could say. Now, what’s next? All details-
General Hospital: Why Is Lulu Going Away?
The reason behind why Emme was let go hasn’t been officially confirmed. However, SoapDirt reports that ABC has a hard time affording all the cast as the ad revenue has taken a hit due to the pandemic. Not just that, but the show’s ratings have dropped too.
Along with all this, Soap Depth adds that Emme and her family are also moving. Their landlord had sold the house they are living in, and now they are househunting. They haven’t been able to find anything since COVID has made everything very complicated.
Will She Ever Come Back?
While Lulu leaving is bad news for everyone, there is a silver lining in this grey cloud. General Hospital did not kill off Lulu. Not that death really is something in Port Charles, but still, there is a door open for Lulu’s return. Plus, miraculous recoveries kind of run in their family.
So yes, it is a bummer that Lulu will be away for the foreseeable future, but they can come back. Not just this, Lulu fans have even filed a petition to bring her back. So, if everyone is very lucky, Lulu will be back on screen sooner than later. We will keep updating this space with all the new information about the soap as we get it. So, you stay tuned.
