A new mystery is coming up at General Hospital. The latest General Hospital comings and goings news reveal that Days of Our Lives alum Charles Shaughnessy is joining the cast of GH. As reported by Soap Opera Digest, Charles is all set to debut this September 2021. However, what we don’t yet know is that what character he would play.
Although we do know that when he comes to Port Charles, he will shake everything up. Long-time General Hospital viewers would recall that Charles has once appeared on the soap opera before. Back in 1984, he had played the role of Holly Sutton’s con-artist cousin- Alistair Durban. So, could he be reprising that role? Only time will tell.
Shaughnessy is much famous for his role as Shane Donovan on Days of Our Lives. He had been a part of the soap for a very long time. His latest appearance was in 2017. Other than soap operas, Shaughnessy has been a part of other television projects. He starred in the famous sitcom The Nanny opposite Fan Drescher. Other titles include Saints & Sinner, The Magicians, and Mad Men. Now that we know that Shaughnessy is coming to Port Charles, we can’t help but think, could he somehow be related to Holly’s current captivity? That is indeed possible.
One other cast joinings that you can look forward to is Cameron Mathison. While we don’t yet know what character he would play, it is speculated that Cameron would come in to play Drew Cain. The character was last played by Billy Miller. Mathison has also been dropping some hints on what his character would be like, but we don’t yet know any confirm the news.
As for his debut, it looks like viewers will get to see Mathison sometime in August. So, we will have to wait to see exactly when he comes to the canvas.
