DanMachi Season 3: Renewal & Production Details
The first season of the famous anime adaptation debuted back in January 2015. J.C. Staff took quite a while to greenlight its sequel. The second installment episodes came around years later in July 2019. While fans were expected another long gap, the studio surprised them with the renewal of DanMachi Season 3. The news came out one day before the Season 2 finale.

Is This The Last Season?
The DanMachi light novel series consists of a total of fifteen volumes. The release of Volume 16 has been delayed. Besides, the LN volume may take a while to hit the market. The first season of the anime adaptation consumed the first five books. However, Season 2 covered less than three of them, i.e. Volume 6 and 7, alongside some chapters of Volume 8.
One of the main reasons behind the difference is the number of pages in each book. The first five volumes ranged from 208 to 288 pages each. On the other hand, Volume 6 and 7 had 272 and 384, respectively, alongside a section of the 400 pages long Volume 8. Looking at the number of pages of the next few books, DanMachi Season 3 may consume the plot of Volume 9 through 11.
Whereas, the remaining chapters of Volume 8 have been covered in an OVA episode of the second season. The episode came out on January 29, 2020. Hence, J.C. Staff still has several LN volumes to cover in future installments. The anime has been a successful production for the studio. Considering that there’s enough source material, the studio may not miss out on another profit. However, the future of the series depends upon the performance of DanMachi Season 3.

Fans have been waiting for months to get the official trailer of the anime season. Fortunately, J.C. Staff has finally released the PV and the first key visual of DanMachi Season 3. The trailer and key visual came out on March 22, 2020. Both of them will continue the plot after the Season 2 finale.

The recently released trailer and key visual of DanMachi Season 3 confirms the addition of a few members to the cast. One of the most important new characters is Wiene. The latest key visual of S3 features Bell meeting Wiene for the first time. She will be played by voice actress Rina Hidaka. The actress has previously voiced popular characters in shows like Classroom Of The Elite Season 2, Food Wars!, Made In Abyss, Sword Art Online and many more.
Fans will also see several other new characters in DanMachi Season 3. This includes a god character, Ikelos, and two adventurer characters, Alise Lovell and Gran. On the other hand, Dix Perdix, the brother of Barca Perdix will become the new main villain. The brand-new baddie is a god character who will be manipulating things from behind the scenes. The finale of the second season was approaching a grim war between the war god Ares’ army and the citizens of Orario. Bell Cranel will attempt to take a stand in the war while trying to stop both sides. However, his love life will become much more complicated this season.
On the other hand, the new character Wiene will appear in a new area of the dungeon called the Large Tree Labyrinth. As Wiene and Bell meet, the people of the Orario will experience a strange case like never before. Bell will attempt to protect the monster girl by hiding her from others which will be challenging for him. Whereas, Dix Perdix, the new villain will create havoc for the leading man.
