Channique Sterling-Brown (Dee-Dee Bailey) recently shared how her character is coping with the latest developments in her client Roy Cropper’s case. Coronation Street viewers already know that the storyline about Lauren Bolton has been huge in the soap since she vanished from her flat.
Initially, Roy was the main suspect, but recently, suspicion has shifted to Nathan Curtis. The situation got even more tangled for the cafe owner when Carla Barlow and Bobby Crawford’s lie to help Roy got caught. Now, Poor Dee-Dee is having a tough time with this case.
The Coronation Street actress explained that the lawyer was beginning to crumble under the stress. Although she has been trying hard to manage everything, the combined pressures are overwhelming her. Most importantly, Dee-Dee sees Roy as more than just a client; she truly values him as a person.
The soap actress added, “She is starting to feel the immense pressure of it all, and we can really see the strain that it’s putting on her.” Channique shared how she was feeling about the situation in Coronation Street. She mentioned that she’s starting to feel unsure because she can’t find all the answers she needs.
Even though she’s finding evidence to help Roy, it’s not working as expected. She’s desperately searching for that one breakthrough, but it’s proving much tougher than she thought. She exclaimed that she was so excited and that working with more of the Coronation Street cast was amazing. According to her, balancing Dee-Dee’s personal feelings with her professional responsibilities has been challenging but rewarding.
The star said she really loved working with Corrie legend David Neilson. She stated, “It’s been absolutely brilliant.” She continued, “David is just so funny, and he’s completely different from Roy. She labeled filming with him as a ‘masterclass.’ Channique also mentioned her close collaboration with Lucy Fallon.
