Madison described how she felt when the doctors revealed her daughter’s condition. Initially, she was shocked. However, after the shock wore off, the young mom felt a rush of guilt. She kept wondering what she did wrong. Maddie questioned her diet, activities, whereabouts and everything else.
She was sad and started to think about the ways in which her daughter’s life is going to be different than she expected. She also knew that things could have been worse. Maddie was frustrated with herself. Even though all her other major organs were working fine, she couldn’t get herself to focus on those.
