A day before the bash, the senior royal undertook a public engagement. King Charles III tagged along with Queen Camilla to visit the Macmillan Cancer Centre at University College Hospital London. Camilla told Teresa Tideman, “I think he was really thrilled to be out. Moreover, she let slip how she had been trying to hold him back lately. On April 30, the royal couple visited the cancer treatment centre to chat with patients and staff.
There, King Charles III and Queen Camilla preached the gospel of early detection and learned more about the research funded by Cancer Research U.K. The same day, the Monarch took over as the new patron of Cancer Research U.K., which was previously held by his mum, Queen Elizabeth. During their visit, the King had a candid talk with patients. Additionally, The Daily Mail reported that he even dropped a frank comment to patient Lesley Woodbridge.
King Charles III said, “It’s always a bit of a shock when they tell you.” Back in February, Buckingham Palace let the cat out of the bag that the King had a cancer scare. Later, the royal spokesman clarified that King Charles III did not have prostate cancer. Furthermore, the palace disclosed that His Majesty was kicking off a routine of treatments. At the time, he was also taking a step back from public duties for a bit.
Now, Charles’s recent visit to the cancer centre is just the beginning of a series of public engagements. A royal insider disclosed that King Charles III is doing alright.
