What Is Carla’s Surprise Gift For Peter?
In Coronation Street, Carla Connor presents her surprising gift to husband, Peter Barlow, which will eventually lead to his exit. The Christmas began with Peter gifting Carla a silver bracelet that had “P loves C” written on it. Both of them even went to Number 1 to meet the entire Barlow family. Later, Carla took Peter to the backyard and gave him a plane ticket as a present. Peter was delighted, but his joy was short-lived as he soon realised it was a single ticket for a one-way trip.
Earlier in Coronation Street, Peter confessed his dissatisfaction with life. This led Carla to make a devastating decision. She mentioned Peter’s friend who is traveling the world by sea, and she said, “It’s to join your mate’s crew.” She informed him that it was his Christmas gift and she won’t be joining him. Afterward, the couple had an emotional conversation. Finally, on the Boxing Day episode of Coronation Street, Peter will make his last appearance on Coronation Street.
“If You Love Someone, You Should Let Them Go,” Says Coronation Street Star Alison King
Recently, Coronation Street actress Alison King opened up about her Peter’s exit and how it will affect Carla. She shared that going and living on a boat sounds wonderful and free, but that’s not for Carla. She added that Carla and Peter see life in a different way. The Coronation Street Carla actress continued, “Carla knows that there could well be a chance that Peter could do that for a year like he has in the past. But she has to look at the bigger picture.”
Additionally, the Corrie actress expressed that if Carla leaves and throws everything away, what would be left for her here when she returns? She mentioned that Peter has his family and roots here. They would still be here, but the business would be gone, and she would have nothing left. She stated, “Carla will obviously be thinking that she has to make the decision and carry on with her life as normal.”
She ended the conversation by quoting, “It’s that old saying, isn’t it? If you love someone, you should let them go. That’s really for both of them.” Will you miss Carla and Peter’s romance? Let us know in the comments. For more Coronation Street updates, stay tuned to the TV Season & Spoilers!
