With 2023 coming to a close in a few short days, General Hospital star Cameron Mathison makes an important announcement. Cameron is popularly known for playing Drew on the ABC soap. And honestly Drew has had the most terrible 2023 in Port Charles. The man spent what felt like centuries at Pentonville. Being bullied and beaten up by Cyrus and his goons. Thankfully, Carly and her army of friends were able to get him released from that hellhole.
The two love birds then reunited under the open sky of PC on General Hospital. However, unfortunately it seems like the lovers – Carly and Drew will be spending the holidays apart from each other. As the spoilers have already indicated that Drew will remain stuck in Australia well into 2024. Meanwhile, Carly gets on with the holidays and some exposes without him back in Port Charles.
The General Hospital spoilers now ring true with Cameron Mathison’s latest Instagram story. The soap star posted a selfie alongside co-star Laura Wright. The two look absolutely delighted in the picture, as he announces that it’s his “last day in Port Charles for 2023”. So it is confirmed that we won’t be seeing him over the Christmas and New Year’s Eve celebrations on GH this year. However, there isn’t any need for his fans to worry. As the loved actor will return at some point in 2024.
What’s Cameron Mathison’s Future On General Hospital?
In his Instagram story, Cameron also writes that he is grateful for everything that has come so far. Moreover, he is excited and “can’t wait to see what’s in store for 2024.” Going by how happy he and Laura look. We don’t think he is exiting General Hospital for good. If anything, he could be going on a break to give time to some of his other commitments. TV Season & Spoilers had earlier reported that Cameron Mathison has signed a multi picture deal with Great American Media.
In other news, Cameron Mathison had also shared a very important health update a few days ago. The General Hospital star told The Entertainment Tonight that he is four years cancer free. “I had my 4-year cancer checkup, so I’m healthy, cancer-free and doing great,” he announced. The popular actor also added that he is stronger than he has ever been. He also expressed similar sentiments in another Instagram post where he wrote that today at 54 he feels he has more energy than he did in his 30’s.
Well, we wish he always remains fit and healthy like this. And we get to see him walking the streets of Port Charles with that handsome face and charm for a long-long time.
