Coronation Street: Ryan Clayton Joins ‘ADHD Club,’ Opens Up About Personal Struggles
Former Coronation Street actor Ryan Clayton (Josh Tucker) shared a major health update with his fans. He revealed the news after two years of waiting for a diagnosis. Taking to Instagram, Clayton revealed that he had officially been diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) after years of uncertainty. Clayton candidly expressed, “Well, after 2 [and a] half years of realizing you don’t ‘grow out’ of ADHD, just because you’re not hyperactive in the way you were as a kid, and 29 years later, I’m an official member of club ADHD.”
The 30-year-old Coronation Street actor emphasized the importance of recognition. He stated, “ADHD isn’t as extreme as some other neurodivergent conditions, but it’s a lot more than being fidgety. It shouldn’t be underestimated either; it can be a real challenge.” The star expressed his relief and acceptance post-diagnosis. He said, “Having that official diagnosis has allowed me to find acceptance and be more open about how I feel without fear of judgment. He added, ‘So for anyone on that journey, whether you’re just realising or on the waiting list, I don’t believe that anyone is worse off for knowing (undiagnosed or diagnosed)”
