General Hospital: A sense of sadness has taken over the canvas ever since Gregory Chase’s medical condition came to light. Thus far, the brave man had been trying to weather the storm all by his lonesome. Hoping to keep his family shielded from the heartbreak of knowing his ultimate fate. But how long could he hold off anyway. Considering that his symptoms had become rather pronounced, it was only a matter of time till the truth came out! Thus, in one of the recent episodes, Gregory opened up to Finn about having been diagnosed with ALS.
Gregory’s Steady Decline Begins
Gregory’s words ripped through Finn as he struggled to come to grips with the fact that his father could be fighting a losing war on General Hospital. Finn knows all too well how fatal ALS is. The dreadful disease that with progression affects the nerves in your body. Eventually, drastically reducing the body’s ability to function. Even the task of breathing becomes compromised. Thus, making the patient’s journey towards fatality rather challenging and painful.
Although Gregory has been holding up a tough front, he really did break down with Finn. And we have to admit that Gregory Harrison is such a fine performer. His portrayal of the unfathomable pain that Gregory Chase would be feeling in that moment tore our hearts into pieces. General Hospital fans can’t stop raving his recent performances on social media. Several fans even went on to narrate how they could personally relate to Gregory’s current predicament as they have witnessed loved ones lose battles to ALS. They revered the GH star for handling the scenes responsibly and empathically.
Could A Miracle Save Gregory On General Hospital?
With the progression of this storyline, General Hospital fans’ soft corner for Gregory is becoming deeper by the minute. Everyone is hoping that several episodes down the line, something will change. Maybe the Soap Gods would find a way to save Gregory from suffering a fatal fate on the ABC soap. There is a small window of hope that there could be a misdiagnosis. Considering that Finn is a doctor, he may push his father to go through some additional tests.
Maybe, just maybe, those tests would uncover a different medical condition responsible for Gregory’s symptoms on General Hospital. Hopefully a condition that is treatable or at least more manageable than ALS. Because quite honestly, we too, would hate to lose a gen like Gregory Harrison from the cast and a solid character like Gregory Chase from the narrative. What do you think? Tell us in the comments.
