Watchmen Season 2 has become a giant topic for conversations among fans. The show was produced by Damon Lindelof, which completed its nine-episodes first season back in December 2019 is now beginning to look as if Season 2 of the show won’t be happening. Both the critic and the audience praised the first season of the Watchmen. It’s the highly anticipated series that premiered last year.
Watchmen is an American superhero TV series created by Alan Moore & Dave Gibbons. The show is the remake of the DC comic series of the same name. This TV series was planned with Damon Lindelof as its EP and writer for the HBO. Watchmen is a sequel that takes place 34 years after the comic events. The series focuses on the circumstances following racist violence in Oklahoma
The fate of Watchmen Season 2
The creator of HBO’s “Watchmen” has dropped out of the second season of the series. As a result, HBO programming chief “Casey Bloys” tells USA Today that a Season 2 is unlikely. She said that “It is really up to Damon at this point. She added, “Truly, I don’t know at this point whether it is a returning drama series or a confined series. I think one of the things Damon did so intelligently was he opened up this entire world.” The creator of Watchmen went one step further, reportedly saying he’s already “given his blessing“ to HBO to continue the show. However, HBO doesn’t appear to do so.
Does the Cliffhanger Set Up The Sequel?
There aren’t too many options left on the table for Watchmen season 2. The fans can see the last season’s ending and predict how the second season will start. Doctor Manhattan is dead, the Lady Tryb is gone, and the seventh cavalry annihilated. Lindelof intended that this last moment be parallel to the end of Watchmen. The renowned magazine announced the truth about the plot to organize an alien attack and kill the disguised heroes.
Lindelof told Rolling Stone that “Suppose for a second that when Angela steps on the pool, there are two possible consequences.” Lindelof does not believe that any of the scenarios is the result of a great television season. So, likely, a year of follow-up does not find the exact story
What Do Writers Say About Season 2
Damon Lindelof said “I’m not entirely assured that I should do another season because kind of what keeps it fresh is a new idea. If I had the right idea, I’d certainly be open to it. But I haven’t had that concept yet.” He also said that “He told the story, he wanted to tell and has no interest in the Watchmen Season 2.”

One more writer Lila Byock seems to be in line with the Damon. She tweeted that “Actually some things do end and that’s okay.” This line is a reference to Doctor Manhattan’s comments to Adrian Veidt in the novel.
