Amber even went behind bars as she pleaded guilty to domestic battery and intimidation. Recently, Dr. Cheyenne Bryant, the life coach, talked with Heavy and shared that Amber Portwood had done a lot of work on herself.
Bryant joined the latest season of Teen Mom the Family reunion. He said that he has been working with Portwood to better her lifestyle. Amber has also had many guilt and anger issues as she has been unhappy with her past decisions. Dr. Bryant said in the interview that Amber felt that she is not worthy of building healthy bonds with her kids. The life coach’s presence in Season 1 was all about fighting against this belief, and Amber managed to overcome it step by step.
He also reconsidered the moment when Teen Mom cast members were asked to stand up if they felt they were good mothers to their kids. Everyone stood up except for Amber. Although everyone tried to convince her, she found it hard to accept that she was a good mother. However, Dr. Bryant added that he told Amber to live in the present so that she would feel more empowered. Also, he has seen the star taking baby steps in improving her relationship with her kids by expressing herself and being there for them.
Teen Mom: Why Did Amber Portwood Lose Custody Of Her Kids?
Amber Portwood has been in many controversies during her entire Teen Mom journey. Earlier, she married Gary Shirley and had a daughter named Leah. However, their relationship did not work. Five years later, she found love in Andrew Glennon and had a son with him named James. However, they broke up as she hit Andrew while he held their baby. Although the baby was not hurt, her ex-boyfriend did get some scratches. Such incidents were quite common and repeatedly took place.
The drug consumption charges also stirred trouble for Amber. Thus, the Child Protection Services recommended that Gary, Leah’s father, take custody. This happened in May 2011. In July last year, an Indiana judge gave Andrew, her ex-boyfriend, the primary guardianship of their son James. This allowed Andrew to take James with him to California from Indiana.
