Long-time Soap Opera viewers might remember Vincent Irizarry from Days of Our Lives. It looks like the actor is in a little pickle. As per the reports, soap veteran and Daytime Emmy- Winner, Irizarry, is all set to undergo emergency surgery this Friday at Cedar-Sinai hospital in Los Angeles.
The actor’s girlfriend, Yvonne Glisson, took to her social media and posted asking to pray for the actor’s wellbeing. She wrote the story of the incident that took place, which left Vincent in this condition.
She wrote, In December, Vincent saw a man being violent to his wife. So, he went to protect the woman’s dignity. But, the other man pushed Vincent to the ground, which led to several bruises and serious head injury, which has now resulted in fluid in his brain.
Glisson added that Vincent was taken to the emergency room as soon as possible. Then, the doctor checked all his wounds, injuries and performed tests. She continued by saying that, sadly, the fluid has increased significantly over the last three months, necessitating emergency head surgery this Friday.
Yvonne also wanted all of his fans, friends, followers to pray for Vincent and send positive vibes. She also requested to send good wishes to the surgeon too. Soap Opera audiences have loved Vincent’s portrayals through the years as Lujack and Nick on Guiding Light.
We have also seen him as Dr. David Hayward on All My Children, David Chow on Y&R, Deimos Kiriakis on Days of Our Lives, and Dr. Jordan Armstrong on B&B. Many of his friends and co-cast members of the soap operas wished him good wishes and a speedy recovery.
Irizarry’s former Days of our Lives co-star, Eric Martsolf, who plays the role of Brady Black, reached out on social media with words of support for Vincent. He responded with a Thank you and also mentioned that he is in very good hands.
