Swamp Thing Season 2: Cancelation

The cancelation caused much outrage amongst the fans and showrunners, as well. In fact, the creators assumed that Swamp Thing would run for at least three seasons in the future.
Showrunner Discusses Swamp Thing Season 2 Plans!
Well, showrunners initially expected the series to run for at least two more seasons ahead. In fact, they had already planned the execution. Executive Producer Gary Dauberman recently discussed that the DC Universe show had much potential, and the story was only beginning to grow by the first season. He planned on getting into some of the more twisted horrors from the original comics.
Besides, Dauberman adds that the debut season was all about telling people what Swamp Thing was all about. However, Season 2 was about to get much deeper into the story. In fact, they had several twisted, weirder, and gross ideas to make further seasons upon. Sadly, the series got scrapped, and the showrunner was left heartbroken by the same.
He explained that on set, the entire team knew that there could be more installments of their project. They all had faith in the show and believed that it deserved to run at least up to the third round. Whereas, on set, some even discussed that there could’ve been some spin-offs of the series too. Upon Swamp Thing Season 2’s cancelation, all hopes for future seasons or spin-offs sank.
Is There Still Any Hope?
While it’s pretty clear that DC Universe has no plans of continuing the show any further, viewers are still expecting to have some more. Even today, they’ve all been filling the requests all over the series’ official social media accounts. While many are demanding to #SaveSwampThing, others are asking Netflix to pick up Swamp Thing Season 2.
The popular streaming giant has previously picked up a couple of canceled shows before. In fact, some of them have successfully survived and were appraised by Netflix subscribers. However, it might not be easy for the streamer to pick up a DC Universe show. Although we can only hope that something works out and we get to watch at least one other installment of the series. Well, practically, Swamp Thing Season 2 has no chances of release otherwise.
